Intensive Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Moscow has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "real steps" from international partners to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in supplying protection systems and enforcing sanctions," was stated in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, according to city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The assaults succeed periods of aerial attacks in the area, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
